hide specific threads from showing up on the outside of the forum

Hi,
i would like to exclude a specific thread from showing up
on the outside of the forum. (in the area where you see
always the "latest topic" and who posted it.)
is that possible somehow?

otherwise i want the thread to show up inside the forum normally.

would be great to set this for specific threads.
anything i can do in the database maybe?

i run vb 3.7.4.

anyone got an idea?

What Latest Topic are you talking about? I can't think of any default item like that that shows vb threads. If you don't something to show up in a custom item, then modify the query to not include that thread.

hello Lynne,
thanks for your reply!

i mean like when someone replies for example to this thread... then the thread title and author of the reply show up
on the outside of this forum (on the outer forum index). (untill there's another new reply/thread in this same forum).
i'd like to exclude a certain thread from showing up there.

if modifying the query would be the solution, could you please tell me how to do that?
i'm not really an expert with this. :)

You mean in the Last Post column on the forum.php page or forumdisplay.php page? I'm not sure exactly how that would be done. You'd need to stop the save in the datastore cache when that post is made, I believe.

yes, i mean in forum.php

hmm..

it can be done for some user groups via forum permissions to not to able to see the forum content and only allowing them to see the forum name. it will become 'Private' instead of showing up the last post
