Adding/Uploading an attachment with a group message

Hi All, I am wondering why vB does not permit the uploading of attachements but default in the groups area. Many groups want to discuss documents, No?

Has anyone found a mod that let us add that functionality to the groups area. It would be good it admin could set who can upload an attachment at a parent level. And then at a group level if the originator of the group could set who they are happy to upload attachments to their group e.g. Only themselves, themselve and moderations, all group members etc.
