Moderation queue notifications

I'm currently using vBulletin 3.6.4 with vBadvanced installed.

I have one forum in which important news can be posted to by anyone and this is then shown on the main homepage of the site. However I want to make sure new threads are sent for moderation before being posted. So, I enabled new thread moderation for this "frontpage news" forum. Works as one would expect - new threads posted in this forum are sent to the moderation queue and then show both in the forum and on the homepage once they are approved.

However I've noticed that there are no notifications whatsoever regarding when a thread is sent to the moderation queue. Admins and mods have to manually login to the admin/mod cp and check for new threads.

Is there a way to show a notification in the top right corner when a thread is sent to the moderation queue? The same area which alerts you when there are new PMs? I have an advanced post report management system installed and whenever there are new/pending post reports a notification appears to admins and mods there saying "Post Reports - 1". Is there a way to get this for moderated threads e.g. "Moderated Threads - 3" or something? A hack/plugin/modification? This would be a massive help.

Thank you.

We use the vb advanced "quick moderation" module, but it doesn't display in the notifications area like you described.

Oh wow, this is amazing, thank you! This is actually better than I wanted - originally I wanted it to show in the notifications area and then I was going to edit the code to make it in to a custom vBadvanced module in my sidebar - this does it all for me! Thank you so much! :D

Hi guys,

I know some of these posts are old now but the requirement for moderation queue notifications is still there.

As such I have just released my own MOD that takes care of this for us. It also has support for a desktop app or any other app you may want to develop that can read in .xml files.
