Only thing that comes to mind is... the shadow effect, make it lighter overall currently it has to be set at black try a grey see if it helps the site flow better/easier on the eyes w/o too much contrast ;).

as Super said , the shadow is overpowering ...you can get rid of it altogether or... you can lighten it up... also personally i think you need a new navigation , like the image attached...

But this is just my suggestion .
