thread and post count has gone crazy

Earlier today the board was fine, but about twenty minutes ago I went onto the board and the post count was crazy. It's showing that threads and posts have not been viewed by me since June of 2010. Posts that have been moved to other locations are back to their original spot (which is very bad because some of those threads have been moved to admin only forums). If someone tries to post, it becomes the first post of the thread they are posting in and I haven't even begun to move threads because I'm worried it won't work in the first place. It also is listing all are members who have ever visited at once!

That sounds really bad. What's the last thing you did on your forum? And how many persons does have the access to the Admin Panel, FTP and MySQL Database?

The last thing I did that involved the ftp was upload an image for a style and I logged into the admincp to update a postbit. This was yesterday.

Only three people have admin privileges, one of them is the owner of the board and the other person hosts the board. I'm the admin who does coding/runs the board while the owner is away.

Unfortunately, everyone who is a mod as ftp access.

Do you have a recent backup of the board?

JIK1987 04-30-2011 09:31 PM

I personally do not but I believe the person who hosts does, but she is currently unavailable to get a hold of.

Someone probably enabled a hack that doesn't work. So your best bet is to restore the latest backup. That's all you can do I guess, or you could disable mod by mod, or compare the php files and db to the older one.

Oh another thing, the time is off by either an hour and ten minutes or 50 minutes (It's off by 50 minutes for me, but off by an hour and ten for others).

This sounds like something happened on the server. I would definitely try to get a hold of the host.

I guess there was a power failure and the server restarted with the wrong date throwing everything off. The host fixed the issue, the only problem is that it still says that our most members visited in one day is a huge number, but I can live with that for now, it's a minor error compared to what happened previously.
