How to Prevent People Hotlinking from my Forums?

Hello Guys,

After searching and reading all articles about hotlinking I got confused beacuse I did not figure out how to do the following:

1. Prevent everybody (Guests and Members) from hotlinking (attachments, pictures, avatars,....etc) from my website to another website.
2. preventing gusets from seeing attachments ang get a meesage that he have to register to be able to download the attachment.

I am worry because I read in many articles that hotlinking from my website will increase the bandwidth on my server.

Please I need a help how to do all of these things above for VBulletin 4.1.3

1) http://altlab.com/htaccess_tutorial.html

2) Check guest permissions on downloading and viewing attachments in group permissions

How I can access the Guest permissions in AdminCP?

One more Question:

How to prevent everybody from downloading pictures and grphics of my website by using right click and save picture as, or select a paragraph and right click to copy it?

100% guaranteed to be impossible.

The moment a user can see your text or image, this data already exists on his machine. Even if you'd try to prevent this with cheap tricks, It'd still be possible with the right tools/mechanics.

I saw it in many forums that when right click to copy something it says that copy is not allowed

It's a simple javascript thing and it's laughable easy to save the picture anyway.

You can use this ofc, depending on the target group of your forum/site it might work for a percentage of users which don't know much about JS, but it's not foolproof and even firefox offers a native method to extract those images anyway.

As I said, it's impossible to prevent this completely, you can make it a bit harder tough.
