Login on sidebar issue...

i created a quick member log in on my sidebar.

i use this code:

Code:

<form action="htp://xxxxxxxxxxx.com/login.php?do=login" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="do" value="login" />
<input type="hidden" name="url" value="http://xxxxxxxxxxx" />
<input type="hidden" name="vb_login_md5password" />
<input type="hidden" name="vb_login_md5password_utf" />
<input type="hidden" name="s" value="1" />
<input type="hidden" name="cookieuser" value="1" id="cb_cookieuser" tabindex="1" />
<label>Username:<input name="vb_login_username" type="text" id="login" tabindex="1" class="bginput" accesskey="u"/></label>
<label>Password<input name="vb_login_password" type="password" id="password" tabindex="1" class="bginput" /></label>
<input name="submit" type="submit" id="submit" tabindex="1" value="Login" accesskey="s" class="button" />
</form>

it works and ended up like this:

but the thing is, once i logged in, the browser redirects me to my forum home page. i am logged in, but the sidebar login box still shows that i am not log in. but my navbar login on the top right shows that i am log in.

is there anyway i can do this right? i am a newbie, i really dont know what to do. i am working on this for days, but still i couldn't get it right. hope someone help me on this issue...

thanks in advance...

The navbar template uses some code like:

Code:

<if condition="$show['member']">
 Show logged in member info
<else />
 Show log in box
</if>

You can look at in in the navbar template, it's near the beginning. Just scroll down a little unitl you see the "<if condition="$show['member']">"

Hmm, I think the problem it'self is in the code you provided, it does the action of logging you in, but it doesn't do the action of displaying your username.

The login form with vBulletin it'self displays the username, once logged in.

thank you very much...

I posted some code back in post #2. Also, if you look at the navbar template you can see exactly how it displays the logged in member info.

any other codes or tricks?

Well, I made a small mistake leaving out a '/' in the "else" tag in the code I posted, which I now fixed. Maybe that was causing the problem. Otherwise i don't know - maybe someone else does.
