User's Ranks Display

1 Attachment(s)
Before I do anything with this template mod, I wanted to thank BOP5, (Bird0Prey5) for allowing me to use his code he gave me, and allowing me to share it with the rest of you guys, all credit is going to him.

Ever wonder on postbits, right under the user's name, it shows their ranks? Sometimes it can be annoying to some users, such as me, and I have gotten help on how to disable it via 'Edit Options"

== INSTALL ==

1.
Navigate over to ACP - User Profile Fields - Add new Profile Fields - Single Selection Menu

2. Put these following settings,

PHP Code:

 TitleUser's Ranks Displayment
    Description : Choose this option, if you want to show user'
s ranks on postbit or if you do want to see them, and it hides thembut not from profiles.

OptionsYes
                No
    Set
Default: Yesbut no blank option
    Field Required
No
    Field Editable by User
Yes

Private FieldNo
    Field Searchable on Members
List : No
    Show on Members
List : No
    Which page displays this option
? : OptionsThread Viewing

3. Now, once you've done that, head over to ACP - Style Manager - (Your Style) - Edit Templates - postbit

Find where it says:

PHP Code:

<if condition="$post['rank']"><div class="smallfont">$post[rank]</div></if>

Replace with this:
PHP Code:

<if condition="$post['rank'] AND $bbuserinfo['fieldxx'] != 'No' "><div class="smallfont">$post[rank]</div></if>

Replace the XX with the User's Ranks Displayment profile field number.

4. Your all set and ready to go!

== NOTES ==

This allows any user to not display the ranks via postbit, however, the ranks will always show within the profile, this is just the postbit.
User's will always have the ability to re-show them again, this time going to UserCP - Edit Options, finding the option, and putting "Yes" and the ranks would show up on the postbits again.

Enjoy everybody!

Thats cool, good job!

No offence but there is no such word as "displayment" in the English language. Just use "display".

Just pointing this out because the search option won't find this useful mod if the correct search term is used.
