Question about search engine indexing.

It appears googlebot has stopped indexing my site and yahoo has just home page indexed.

This has happened since I've gone from a free forum software to the great vb software. I also noticed that not a single vb3 page is indexed while the file format for previous forum software is indexed.

Is there anything I can do to fix or alleviate this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Update: the reason I worded it above is because previously w/ the old forum software I had just under 2k when I did a allinurl w/ google now I have ~ 400 posts listed.

Well the structure is different I would give it some time till google can make the adjustments, from what I heard it can take a while, even months. And if you have 4.0 cms also pay attention to the cms setup compare to the forum setup with meta tags, if your not using the cms just disable it . try VB ceo, I heard it is a great software and I believe it is free for 4.0 so this should give you a boost. There is a paid version but I have not found out what more dose it give you.

vBSEO (http://vbseo.com) is an awesome piece of software. vBSEO sitemap is available for free download here at vB.org - check it out, download and install it - it should help immensely getting your new url structure indexed.

Also - what software did you migrate from? You may be able to make redirects to the new url structure via an .htaccess file perhaps - so that you don't lose your already indexed pages...

HTH,

Give google some time, when I changed the Link Structure, Google also stooped looking into my forum for weeks, then it came back (and now its there like 24/7).

Should one resubmit their site to Google and Yahoo and the other search engines? I don't know the technical term but I know when someone builds a new Web site, it's recommended to submit the site to Google and others so it will be indexed faster. What is the correct content solutions to not lose one's listing and PR?

The best way to get indexed is to have an existing page that's indexed link to you. I haven't submitted a new site to google since Google came out practically. I just give each new site a link on my primary site and within a week or so it gets indexed.
