Notification when new users register

I want to be notified when I have new users register on my site. I realize I can have an email notification, but I want myself any other specified admins/mods to receive a pm or some type of notification. Is there a setting or what would be needed to code this in? Please help, I appreciate any words of wisdom. Thanks!
