Ajax Chat

I'm installing Ajax Chat on my forum using this:

Question: Does the database used have to be the one from my vBulletin forum? Or do I have use a brand new database?

It can be the same database, I used it so that my users wouldn't have to log in again if they were already logged into the forum.
