Lets hear it!!!!!! :D

*Please note that debating, off topic, negative comments/posts will be deleted and are not wanted. Positive (How can we make this even better!!!) is wanted. :(

Here goes my idea, I am guessing suggestions are welcome.

Since the whole purpose of BOTM is to showcase what users have done with VB and also to showcase implemented mods...

I suggest that the winner of BOTM be showcased on VB.org frontpage.

I think this would motivate more people to enter the nominations because it would drive more traffic to the individuals website.

Resulting in more visibility for everyone, user, VB.com and VB.org...

What do you think? :D

Also maybe a name change? Why BOTM? and not website of the month? VB has grown to much more that at message board...

If you're a member of any organization where members run for office you can only nominate 1 person- the person you think is BEST. I think nominations for BOTM should likewise be limited to 1 nomination.

And not to put more work on you Roms but 3 weeks of people entering their sites followed by 1 week of nominations, followed by voting I think would be more fair. Don't take nominations until everyone has entered.

I want to see a best of the best competition. Board of the Year? Board of the Decade?

BotY okay, but of the Decade? i mean, that would be vB 7.x or something in the future compared to vB3.6.x (wich is used often even today)

I would suggest that the Users have to screenshot thier Forums and may say if they use the cms version or the forum-only.

Could there be a "Hall Of Fame" thread for all the BoTM winners? It'll be easier to view them rather than checking dozens of threads.

A small suggestion.

IMO, specifying following point?

'Please give your vote after considering all the important aspects of the board, including look & feel, content, quality and customization'

Sounds like a good idea, will start putting future winners into one sticky "hall of fame" type thread, adding the new winner to the top of the post each month.

G!

While I agree with you that is how people should base their vote I don't know we should officially tell someone how to base their vote- if a style designer for example wants to base his or her vote on style alone it's not necessarily wrong. But I will see what other people have to say about this.

Please keep it BOTM or Forum of the month, website of the month is what it is not!

BlueCheri 03-09-2012 07:58 AM

I agree, you are right.

It is their way of voting.
