Left Column Mod

Hola!

So in vb 3.x I would always use a left column mod to display banners. However there doesn't seem to be any available for 4.x.

And template hacks to display the left column always seemed to be a combination of odd tables in the header and the footer.. Do these same rules still apply? Or is there an easy way that I'm missing for putting a banner in a left column?
