will permissions block spiders?

If I set the majority of my forums so that visitors must be registered before being able to access most forums, does this mean the search bots cant access and subsequently index these pages either?

Spiders/bots are Unregistered users. So, if an unregistered user cannot see a forum/thread, then a spider/bot cannot see that forum/thread.
