User ranks based off member years
 

I have searched around for something like this. So far everything I have found is only based off post count. Is there any mods out there that will allow me to base this off the amount of years the member has been active?

I have paid members that have been on our 11 year board for 11 years but there post count is only like 2,000 when I have other members that have been on for less then a year and have post counts of 5,000.

With the influx of mobile phone use getting a high post count in a short amount of time is pretty easy. Some of these posters pay each year even though they don't have a high post count, I think it would be nice to have a system in place that can award them for that.

You can set up a new usergroup for those with a high number of years and promote them to that usergroup and then create a rank for that usergroup.

I was looking at that as the only way to do it unless there is a mod out there. Once I got the usergroups set up it would be auto from there. I would not have to move each poster in the user group first correct?

You may set up Promotions that move them from one group to the other when they reach so many years.

Have you searched the mods at all? There may be something out there to do what you want using a mod. Search "permi*" or "year*" or "user*" in All Mods / Titles Only.

Nothing based off years. I will go with the way you suggested. I was only going to award based off 3, 5, 10 years. We are a 11 year board. So that is not a lot of work. Thanks for the help.:)

Once I get the promotion set up and the user rank set up for that user group for users to be promoted in too. Do I need to run anything to make the promotion work like you have to do when you update user ranks?
