.htaccess file - where to find?
 
I have downloaded 4.1.2 version, installed it and now enabled the mod rewrite option for SE friendly urls..

as there is no .htaccess file under domain.com/forums all the urls are returning 404 error page.

searched here but could not find and even checked the downloaded files but could not find the file..

can anyone shed some light on this, please?

It's in the "do not upload" folder
