Header graphic & logo centering

I downloaded a theme that included a header image that was about 1900 pixels wide. And while using that theme I could re size the width of the browser and the image would stay centered and fit the width of the page.

Now I dont want to use the whole theme.. just that header pic.

I can get the header to show up on my forum. But it only shows the left side of the pic and does not center as i resize the browser.

I thought that going into the stylevar under header:header:background i could set the image offset to 100% of something.. but that doesn't work.

Does anyone know what i can do to accomplish my goal?

Also i would like my logo to be centered and the actual header image to drop down about 5 or 10 px to let the top facebook and log in info be seen clearer as the screen moves also.

well.. i figured out how to center the logo... now i just need the bg image centered and to be able to drop the header down about 10 px or so while leaving the loh in and stuff up at the top

nevermind.. i got it all to work.

Well except moving the header down a little bit so you can see the top nav.. but im sure it will work out.

Ah, that's the header form the origonal Darkness theme, or was it Darkness 2.
