sql max_questions.....question

my host has it set to 75000, I installed vbactivity pro and after setting all the points/achievements.....etc I ran the required "Recalculate points" task. My forum is small.....ive never had any querie problems but I do know these things are processor intensive.

Well at 75000 I get through roughly 40-50 of my near 200 users.

This morning I paid to have the limit upped to 150000 which brings me to right around 90-100 users.

I find it hard to believe everyone who uses vbactivity has unlimited sql queries.....there has to be a better way, is there anything I can do to help get through this process easier?

Well, you can move to another host that doesn't limit you as much. Or you can uninstall the mod.

The even more expensive way would be to move to a vps.

My frustration is with startlogics in ability to help me. I simply asked for a 10-15 minute window to run this task...nope. I paid $20 to increase my limit to 150K which gets me to within 50-60 users of finished....they wont go any higher.

I dont need a dedicated, semi or even vps. I dont even need a insanely high max_questions limit.....I just need a host who is reliable and will actually work with me.

I didnt think 10-15 minute window to run this task was a big deal. I have had my site there for years id think that would be worth something.

My question here is there any database optimization or tricks I can use to get me the rest of the way through this process.

You should fix your signature also :p

See my post over on WHT :)

It sounds like a design problem with the mod if you only have 200 members. You should be asking over at the author's website. It's a paid mod, so it comes with support, no?
