If you want a site homepage with just widgets, you just have to remove code from the vbcms_content_section_page template.

Put the primary content box in the layout on the bottom of any column you have to remove the extra line space at the top.

Probably best to use this if you do not plan on having articles and just want widget only pages. I'm sure there is a way to just comment out certain code to just remove both the title and no content message. This is the simple lazy way. :)
