Some users in our forum have problems with search.

How are the various ways are actually defined? There is a quick search, an advanced search form with clicking on the magnifying glass without search term and the advanced search, which is looking other than the advanced search ofter quicksearch without term. Sort by relevance appears e.g. only in the advanced search after clicking on the magnifying glass without search term - why? What is the reason for the different Advanced Search forms?

How placeholders (*,?) work? Can I display the relevance value in some way? Somehow, the relevance ranking is relatively intransparent.
