3D Ribbon effect on forum header?

Hi all,

I'd like to create the 3D Ribbon effect on my customised style, in the forum header (forumhead) section. I've seen this on some skins already.

For example:

Has anyone got a guide or tutorial on how to do this please?

w3schools has a lot on css....

cheap way is to use background behind forums...
