Custom PHP Pages in vBulletin w/ form to thread function.

So I have been researching the Vbulletin API. I came across a lot of info.
I found this simple guide on making a custom php page:
http://www.ukwebmasterworld.com/foru...vbulletin.html
and a nice list of arrays, vars and objects that Vbulletin offers:
http://tech6.com/f51/vbulletin-variables-list-t123/

Now all I need is some proper information on how to use the above methods to create a forum that can be used to submit a new thread to a specified forum. I am running vBulletin 3.8.x

Any info is appreciated, thanks,

ps: I am aware of the mod called "form hack" but this is not what I am looking for.

Why is the form hack not what you want (I'm sure you can modify it for use in just a couple forums)?

Because the form hack has it's own template thing ie. you don't edit the php, you edit the "presets" that it gives.

Great for some people, but I am looking to make a completely custom form in PHP on my own with my own code etc.

I just need info on how to submit the form as a post to a forum thread.

I actually have something similar on my site. For two forums, I have a completely different looking New Thread page which has a bunch of custom inputs and makes the first post in these forums look a certain way. I made it years ago and didn't write any sort of notes on what I did. I think I started by taking the newthread.php page and changing the name, changing the template names, and adding in any custom fields I needed.

hmm, interesting idea. I shall look in to that. May at least give me the method required to submit a post if anything. Thanks for the idea.

unfortunately this is not working. I have a form I made using a custom "php page" via VbAdvanced CMPS. But unable to find the magic method to convert the $_POST variables I have in to a lovely forum post. Halp?
