vB Suite Category/Section/Front page help

So nobody answerd last time so im asking again. Im confused with the whole Category/Section/Front Page thing and what each is really FOR.

Here is my main website:
http://webdesigncove.com/content.php

Articles
Downloads
News
Tutorials
>HTML/CSS
>Graphic Design
>SEO
>etc etc

When I post something in ANY "section/category" I WANT that to appear on the "front page" of my site as well. How can I do this. So basically I just want the front page to display recent articles

Create a new layout for each page you want to change... layout for "articles", "News", etc....

Then choose the widgets you want for each layout.

Finally, when you promote an article, edit the article and choose which layout you want it to appear in.

I know, it confused me too. I just started getting the hang of it. I hope that helps you out.

morrow can you explain how to do that more in depth. when I go to edit an article which option am I selecting to change the "layout"

Ok... First, You have a few different layouts, correct...

Let's take your first article for example...
http://webdesigncove.com/content.php...his-site-about

Now when you edit your article using the little https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/02/35.png icon (when you hover over the article name, this will appear), there is a box indicating which layout the article should be displayed under. Choose one of the layouts you created.

That's it.

Also, I'm going to bed so if you need more help, I may not reply until tomorrow. Sorry buddy. I'll check back in tomorrow morning. Goodnight.

So, you want all the latest articles to appear on your Home page? Go to your Home page > hover over the Section Title > click the Edit pencil > set Display Order to be something like "Newest First" and make Content From be "Include Sub-Sections" and then it will show the newest articles from all the Sections.
