2-3 Times to Login

Almost all the users on my forum are complaining how it takes 2-3 times to login. Sometimes I have to Shift+Refresh to clear cache to be able to login again once I've logged out. I've checked my cookie settings and board settings a dozen times and they are accurate. Once logged in, there aren't any issues with logging out or anything. I just can't understand why it takes so many times to login. :(

Any ideas?:confused::confused:

Are you running a sub-domain? as in forums.example.com?

strudinox 02-02-2011 03:11 PM

Nope, I have all the content in a /main directory so it looks like http://gnd-tech.com/main

I've included that in the options as well.

Is this on all browers? and only for some users ?

p.s i love the user-html you use on say member Llotse :D

What is AdminCP > Settings > Options > Cookie > Cookie Domain set to? Since you allow users to be on your site using both yoursite.com and www.yoursite.com, it should be set to (no quotes) ".yoursite.com" (note the period at the beginning).

Thanks :)

It's more prevalent on Chrome and IE. Firefox takes 2 times every now and then but not all the time.

Have you tried telling your users to try loggin in when at www.gnd-tech.com instead of just gnd-tech.com? And told them to make sure to check the Remember Me option?

strudinox 02-02-2011 05:48 PM

Yep, whether or not your are using www. the login still takes several attempts. The remember me box works fine once logged in. I don't seem to have any issue with VB logging people out or anything.
