Help please

My hosts closed but luckily before they folded I backed up the database, as I did every week. I have installed vbulletin on a server I have bought elsewhere and that went fine. BUT I can't get it to accept the database (300mb) I have sat here on my laptop. I've had to split it using SQL Dump Splitter (as the maximum is 10mb) but get this error code for almost everything.

Help.

Whats the error you get?

Oh the error code is

Try using Big Dump or MySQL Dumper to import the file then there's no need to split it up ;).

Some links and info here that should be useful:

Your problem is (I think) you are importing a database from a different version of mysql. Make sure the mysql version you made the backup from and the new host are the same.

That error has nothing to do with it's size.

Actually the error doesn''t have anything to do with versions of Mysql but it is most likely due to the db backup not being split properly.

We would need to see the exact full error to tell you where it went wrong. But try TheLastSuperman's suggestion to restore the backup as a whole.

We're not aware the condition of the files he's using after splitting there could be an extra " or ' the program placed for something selected in options etc so best bet is to use one of the methods I listed and then no need to split the file and you can bypass the 10mb limit although it could be as simple as you say we need to see the full error or more info really ;).

OK. I've installed it (MySQL Dump) and I can't figure out how to upload the database I have here on my lappy.

Sharkyman 02-01-2011 12:56 PM

Reet, installed it and tried to install the database. It gets to record 700K odd and I get this error message;

Quote:

Sql: <br /> Erweiterte Inserts: 0 unknown SQL-Command: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /usr/share/phpmyadmin/export.php:150) in /usr/share/phpmyadmin/libraries/ob.lib.php on line 61
Any ideas?
