How can I add emoticons to vB?

I know for smilies I upload them on ACP, but for a .gif file I am not sure.

I know i have to put it into the images/smilies via FTP but now sure how from vB ACP

yes upload them to the dir then goto admincp/smiles
you may want to make anew category for them first
Upload Smilie
Then for a single smile use/Add single Smilies
for multiple smiles use/Add Multiple Smilies
for a lot you would upload a zip to the directory and unzip it then go add Multiple Smilies

oh yea make sure you cmod the directory to 777

no, emoticons, the ones taht are like .gif files (animated) i guess.

also, i ahve noticed on some forums when you are posting a reply, on the right it shows a list of smilies with a "more smilies" option and you click it it shows a small window of like 20 more to choose from...how can I do this?

yes when you add more it will do that these are animated cmod is a command you do so the files are readable and writable it is best to do this all from your servers cpanel but you can do it through ftp

if your using filzilla I think you would right click on the folder you want to cmod and options would come up its in there i think. havent used it in a while

well if i am uploading the smileys onto the images/smilies folder isn't it already cmod or whatever loll?

download them all to your desktop to a file. then zip it up and ftp it to the dir in your forum called /images/smiles/ unzip it and then goto admincp and add them in

but it wont allow you to add them if the dir smiles is not 777

when i went to add the .gif it says what command do you want meaning pressing *)I would show a happy face...i do that with .gif as well? i thought that is only for smilies

now question, how can i make the pre-installed ones bigger? they look tiny as hell

should just have to make anew category or you will add them to the smilies category

and if your doing multiple you will just use the names that they have

use smile manager

goto smile manager then use view then you can order them and delete the ones you dont want or make them like the last ones instead of first
