[solved]

Has anyone figured this out?

Thanks

For sure The mobile style is going to be a big player in the future. I have run the
i phone blackberry mod that's posted in here, it just works off the domain name. seems to me you would have to either have a mod that would sense that its being browsed by a mobile device. or run 2 copy's of the software, one on m.domain.com
and one on domain.com both using the same databases

The other would be a link in the header or by the log in box, that said something like click here for mobile style, that would be easy it would just link tothe m.domain.com that was in the style your wanting them to use.

Interesting stuff though i just don't know about it to be much help , since i dont even own a cell phone. I'm such an old fuddy duddy.

Interesting idea. Can you suggest/confirm any of his options? Surely this has been done before.

I know you can share a database and that would work but you would need to buy two copy's of VB.

if The style is set to default, of course anyone logging into the domain with that style would be forced to use that style if you didn't allow a choice.

most sites would just make people use the style selection at the bottom to switch to a a constructed mobile style. named MOBILE style :>

All I did was forward my sub domain to the style ID of the mobile theme via .htaccess

Create a blank index.html file and add this to your .htaccess for your subdomain:

Code:

Redirect 301 /index.html http://www.yourdomain.com/forum.php?styleid=XX
Just make sure to edit your domain and replace XX style ID#

This is exactly how I have it setup with my site and it's working perfectly. :)

I just tried this. It works fine for the subdomain (such as m.domain.com), but when I go back to the domain.com, it holds the same style as when I visited m.domain.com, which is the mobile. Why is this and how do I get over this? Thanks.
