using multiple selection checkbox custom profile field values in template

I want to display a line break between each checked value from a multi select checkbox custom profile field.

I see how to display a plain text field

Code:

{vb:raw post.field6}

But how do I refer to checked values? Do I need to form a template variable in PHP?

I have an article in the vb4 articles area on how to display the different types of custom profile fields. Take that code and edit it to fit your needs.
