Is it possible to only have people join your site that you want?
 

This is a Sports Site and I really need help here:

I do not feel just because a person has a site that tons and tons of spammers have a new advertising board. I do not for 1 minute believe that when a site a built it is a new homeland for spammers and I do believe there must be a way to allow only people you want on your site and only that, including the newest member which appears on the home page and on the forum page. I need help does anyone know how to prevent this? I have a ton of unwanted members with no idea how to get rid of them besides banning (which I HAVE DONE) or deleting. This is a sports site.

I'm not an expert on the subject, but I think first you'd want to do what you can to try to stop as many new spammer registrations as you can. Then I'm not sure what you can do to stop spammers with existing account except to ban them when you find them.
