Can vBulletin be somehow configured (via DB backups, code hacks, server configurations, or anything else) to use the same user base across multiple occurences of the script?
|
I have done this in the past. It is very possible to do this. It requires code changes in almost every file but it can be done.
|
What's the general idea behind it? I was thinking that I'd have to create a new global method that behaves similar to the DB_site one, only calls on a different DB. I guess I'd then have to go in and find ALL the queries dealing with the "user" table, and change the name of the method they're calling?

Sorry to bump, but I have no choice. :)

Ever get your problem solved, Chris?
|
I may have. Wayne was kind enough to contact me personally. He gave me some advice, but I have yet to attempt this feat. :) I may be giving it a go shortly, though.

vLuke, can you please elaborate. If this is possible, I would love to do it!!!!!!! Thanks,

I have told the developers that I would not publicly release this information. It is actually quite easy if you know how to use MySQL.
