Getting spammed by Facebook users
We've had a huge up tick in spam in the past week and I tracked it down to users registering as Facebook users. Apparently, recaptcha can't be turned on for these users. I hate to turn off facebook platform because it has many benefits.
I'm wondering how others are dealing with this? |
I actually disabled the facebook connect completely, I was tired of it slowing my site down :(
make a usergroup for the facebook users, restrict their permissions until they hit X post or X days that's what we did |
How common is spam via facebook. I've recently enabled facebook registrations in order to give users a quick way to register as the normal way gets masses of spammers. But if spammers are going to arrive via facebook too, why bother..

In my case, it wasn't spam related to Facebook registrations, per se, but the fact that the spammers were getting past reCaptcha. Once we added a registration question the spam bots stopped.
