Using Existing Password in Another DB
 

My site has multiple areas that require a login. One of my services uses email addreses as the username, and another uses the username from the VB forum, but they have to enter a password. Some memers are complaining about having various logins and passwords.

I would really like to have someone be able to enter their forum userid in the "other" area that uses the same userid, but have it automatically update the password in the other database so they match and don't have to enter it.

I am assuming, based on a very simple test, that selecting the password from the VB forum and updating another database with that password, would not work because of the encrypting. Is that so?

Any ideas how I might do that?
