Tacking the page views by unique user accounts
 
I was wondering how I would go about keeping track of if a user has viewed a specific thread or creating a confirmation box users must check to confirm they have viewed a specific thread.

If anyone could point me in the right direction as to how to go about doing something like this I would greatly appreciate it as I am clueless.
