World of Warcraft Anonymous Armory - Masked Armory - Quick Creation Tool
 

I own a MMO trading/buying/selling site and, also, an anonymous World of Warcraft armory solution called Masked Armory.

What is Masked Armory?

Masked Armory is an anonymous World of Warcraft armory profile creation tool. It goes to the World of Warcraft armory and grabs of the important data about your character and 'masks' the name/server/locale of the character so that people can buy/sell/trade accounts without risk of their character being discovered.

What does this tool do?

This tool adds a character creation box under the 'Prefix' box on the 'New Thread' page for the selected forums (you specify the forum IDs in the Administration area for the product under vBulletin Options). The end-user will enter in their character information and then press the 'Create' button. The data is then sent to Masked Armory, an anonymous armory is created, and then it is posted back to the message box on your 'New Thread' page. The armory creation is currently taking about 2-5 seconds depending on load.

Please note that this profile creation box is reusable and the end-user can create as many profiles as they like.

Installation

1. Unzip the contents of the RAR to your desktop.
2. Upload the /clientscript/ folder to your forum root directory.
3. Install the product in your Product/Plugin installation area in your forum's Admin CP.
4. Go to your vBulletin Options and set the product to active and then insert the forum IDs of the forums you would like this product to show up on.

Copyright | Backlink Information

There is currently a backlink to Masked Armory under the character creation tool. The reason for this backlink is to lead the end-user to the full-fledged armory in the event that they want to take advantage of the additional features that the full-fledged armory offers like Additional Gear Sets and Notable Achievements.

This product is a product of Knucklehead Productions (Splash/Link page still in production) and is copyrighted material. Any attempt to redistribute this and play it off as your own is strictly prohibited.

vBulletin 3 Development

I am more than happy to develop this for vBulletin 3 if there is enough interest. Just state "Want vBulletin 3 version" in a response to this thread. If I get 10 or more people vB3 users that are interested, I will go ahead and create it.

Does this only create a link to your armory or does it create a detailed profile in the thread? Screenshots would be helpful too

It only creates the armory link. I am not sure what you mean insofar as a "detailed profile". If you could provide a bit more information on that, I am sure that I can look into alternative data returns.

As for the screenshots, what would be/been helpful for you to have seen?

No offense but all this work just to show an armory link seems kind of useless...

I think if it showed a detailed armory info in the post would be better?

If I am going to continue to develop the mod, I need more information to operate with.

Please explain what you mean and then I can delve further into it.

I think it should show the information on the website itself like a box with information inside. Another thing you should create a drop down for the servers with all the server names in it or if you are not wanting to add all the servers yourself then have it where the website owner can add them manually because a lot of time people cannot remember how to spell the server names!

You can always put a small banner at the bottom for the website it is linked to or put sponsored by

As for the server names part, it is a Javascript setup right now. If you start to put in some letters, an autocomplete Javascript box will pop up below the Server Name textbox. As of right now, the server list is 100% complete and has every US/EU server listed in the autocomplete dropdown.

Let me think on how to provide more information outside of the armory box. Going to need to go back to the drawing board and think of something unique :)
