Forum went back to Older Version.

Hi guys.. Happy New Year..

Well i came across this issue... i upgraded my forum from 4.0.8 to 4.1.0 about 2 weeks ago and everything was working fine.... there were no issues and today i imported a new year style and logged out and now when i got back home and logged into my admincp its telling me that i am running 4.0.8 not 4.1.0........ can anyone help why did it happen like this ?? i didn't make any other changes just added new style and it changed from upgraded version to older version... if i delete that style will it go back to 4.1.0 ???

any type of help regarding this will be appreciated.. Thanks in advance :)

Adding a new style will not downgrade your entire vBulletin installation. It's impossible to downgrade a forum, actually, save doing a complete uninstall. Have you tried reuploading all the default vBulletin non-image files in ASCII mode?

well the thing is its not that it tells me on all places that i have 4.0.8....... when i type domain/admincp it tells me that i have 4.1.0 and when i log in it tells me i have 4.0.8 and when i go to forumhome it tells me i have 4.1.0 so its just confusing me :(

Hmm something is up...
  • Have you tried going to AdminCP > Maintenance > Update Counters *and rebuilding all styles?
  • Are you on a MAC? If so clear your cache, it could still be something in your cache or possibly something in your servers cache.
  • What type of hosting environment are you on?
  • What modifications have you installed recently? If none have you only tried uploading this one style and if so what style is it, by who and where from etc.

Other than that it can easily be something simple we're all overlooking or something more complex hopefully it's simple and we figure it out soon .

Hi,

thanks for ur concern.... here is something i would like to share which i still don't understand but as long as it solved my issue m happy :( i had one sub folder and one root directory so i deleted the sub and upload all 4.1.0 files in root directory and ran upgrade and its working now so m kinda happy camper :) but the only thing i don't understand is how come it was working fine for 1 week and then all of sudden it went back to older version... ??????? it doesn't make sense to me even if had a sub-dirct or not.

m hosting with Justhost and i didn't do any modifications just that one style which was from VB lunear year 2011

anyways thanks for ur help... appreciated.. :)

Why it worked for a week then mysteriously and magically reverted? Well you have me there... I'm stumped and without someone looking into it again we may never know - the important thing is you bypassed the issue and congrats on keeping at it, sometimes that pays off!
