Thread links vs index links
 

Is there any way to keep the links on the index page one particular hex code color, and make the links of threads ONLY, a different hex code color?

Sure, you can write some css to do that. Look in the page source and get the class for what you want to change, and just write some CSS to change the color for that class.

Thanks but I'm gonna need a bit more information on how to do this. Like which thread template should I edit, and what css should I add there?

First you need to do as Lynne suggested and look at the source code of the page. Find the classes of the links you want to change. You can figure out which templates they are by enabling Admin CP ? vBulletin Options ? vBulletin Options ? General Settings ? Add Template Name in HTML Comments. Then each template will be marked at where they start and end.

If you don't know much about CSS, you'll need to research that on your own. It's not terribly hard to learn, but it's more involved then can be described here and it's going to be up to you how you want it to look.

If you need more help, you need to provide a lot more detail - like a link to the page you want to change things, an image showing what you want to change, and tell us exactly how you want to change it. If you give us a general question, you are going to get a very general answer. If you are most specific, you will get a more specific answer.

Now if you leave this forum, and go onto the index page you'll see I have my links colored #cc0000 hex code. All of them are this color. What I wanna do is change the color of links for each board. So for example...when someone enters the forums landing page, they'll see all the links to each forum in #cc0000 (dark red) hex code color, as it is currently. But when they enter a board, the links to each thread would be colored #ff3300 (red). That's all I wanna do. I want all of the thread links on my board a different color from the forum links on the landing page.

Kind of like you guys have all of your links on this board blue currently? But if you were to choose to have ONLY the links to each board on your landing page blue. But once someone leaves the landing page and would enter the vb3 forum for example, the thread links there would be yellow, red, green, or whatever.

A simpler solution would be to just create a child style to your current style. Change the color for links on the child style. Then set whatever boards you want to have those link colors as a the default style for those subforums in the Forum Manager.

Unfortunately, vb3 has no class assigned to just the thread titles, so if you only want to do them, you'll have to add a class to the link and then define the class.

I tried that, worked but my sidebar doesn't appear with the child style for some reason.

You would look at the source code of your page and look at a link. Like I said, for CSS, you'll need to do some research into how CSS works. Then you'll immediately know where to look and how to implement it using vBulletin's extra CSS options.

Is your side bar a modification or a template edit?
