Legal Theme Coding Question.
I have a question for those that code themes for VB.
I am in a dispute with someone on a coding site...I stopped the project because he provided 100% content that was take from another site. I went along with it for a bit, then decided it would only be right to cancel, about that same time, he is claiming he finished the project, bla, bla, bla... Let say you were going to clone DP's theme (example only) how much work would be really involved in getting ready for a website? I need to know this since he ripped off the theme of another site (not dp) and i really need to know how much actual coding he did (aprox) to get the theme ready for another website.... He is claiming he did all this work, and I do not see how he could have if he ripped the entire theme/graphics from another site... So how much work did he really do? Thanks |
This depends very much on the theme in question. If you want to copy a simple theme and steal all the graphics, there is not much left to do for yourself. If you copy a more complex theme where you have to modify templates and/or add own code to templates/css, there is more work involved for yourself.
In both cases, the graphics are a lot of work if you do them yourself. And stealing them is most likely not allowed by the original creator. |
