sidebar won't display correctly
It keeps showing up at the top of my forum or at the bottom, but won't show beside the forum like it should.

That's the way you have it coded - just look in your page source. You've got:
<table> the sidebar stuff </table> <table> the main stuff </table> Why wouldn't one go under the other? If you want them side-by-side, you need to put divs around them and use css to do this. Or, put them both in a table that puts them side-by-side. |
Where in my admincp would I go to find what you're talking about?
|
This is custom code that you added - so where did you add it? I would *guess* it is in the FORUMHOME template, but since it is not default, it could have been you created a separate template for that and added it that way.
|
I didn't add any custom code. I just imported the sidebar column via xml file. The last time I did that, it lined up perfectly and normally. In fact I have not added any templates or skins for my board. I downloaded vb 3.8.6, changed colors and inserted images for the .maintitle and .titlemedium, which I did from the standard edit template thing where you can change link colors and all of that stuff. Mods, I just imported via xml files that I found on vb.org.
Anyways, here's my entire FORUMHOMETEMPLATE... Code:
$stylevar[htmldoctype] |
If you are using a modification, and it isn't working, then you need to ask for help in the modification thread, not out here in the main forums.
And sometimes, things don't work together and it is up to *you* to modify one of the other so they can work correctly together. If you downloaded a style, it could be it is coded differently and won't work with that sidebar modification without you modifying it to work. So, take a look at how it looks when using a default style and it works, then look at it when using the custom style and it doesn't work, and compare the source code and see what you need to do. |
Okay I tinkered and I tweaked and finally got things how I wanted them to look. One more question though, do you know the proper numerics to make the time show up as normal digits, and not military time? I know where to go for my top 5 stats mod to change the time, I just need the proper numerics to enter for the standard 2:00 pm time to show up. And not 19:33 as it is now.
