Adding canonical tag to showthread urls

Please is there a way I can add canonical tag to tfseo urls? I tried the canonical link tag and it works great for regular vbulletin urls but not tfseo urls. I'm using tfseo to rewrite showthread links on my vbulletin 3.8 forum but the canonical tag doesn't work with the rewritten tfseo urls. Please I'll appreciate any little help at all. I've been trying all day but no luck. Please help
