spam registrations help
 

Hi all,

We are having a problem with spam registrations. We are on the most recent version of the software and I have implemented the following:

* Human verification Q&A
* Required Profile question
* Moderating new registrations
* vbStopForumSpam plugin
* Stop the Registration Bots plugin

Even with all that we are still getting spam registrations. In the last 2 days there have been over 100 new registrations and I think all of them have been spam. I'm afraid I won't know what a good registration looks like :-)

Is there anything else I should be doing?

Do they post random threads with links?

We were seeing spam posts and the users had been adding signatures with links in their profiles. And around 12/15 we were seeing a ton of new registrations. So we started moderating new users and turned off signatures. And did the other steps noted in my original post.

The new registrations have slowed down because of the plugins we added. But we are still getting several a day and they still look like they are all spam.
