Disable all but forums and .htaccess redirects

Hi,

I only need to use the forums in my vB4 suite so I would like to know how I would disable the cms and/or blog please?

Also I tried to setup some redirects in the .htaccess file but its not working out too well so would some mind giving me a hand to work out what I'v done wrong on that please?
Here is the htaccess code I made (its the last 3 lines for my vB):
Code:

# -FrontPage-

IndexIgnore .htaccess */.??* *~ *# */HEADER* */README* */_vti*

<Limit GET POST>
order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from all
</Limit>
<Limit PUT DELETE>
order deny,allow
deny from all
</Limit>
AuthName extreme-gaming-network.com
AuthUserFile /home2/extremeg/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.pwd
AuthGroupFile /home2/extremeg/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.grp

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^extreme-gaming-network.com
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.extreme-gaming-network.com/$1 [R=301,L]

#Redirect 301 /forums/ http://www.extreme-gaming-network.com/forums/forum.php
#Redirect 301 /forums/content.php http://www.extreme-gaming-network.com/forums/forum.php
#Redirect 301 /forums/blog.php http://www.extreme-gaming-network.com/forums/forum.php

I # out the lines for the time being so not to mess with SEO. Also the forums are installed in a sub-director not a sub-domain but I take it I do still add the redirects as above to my root folder and not in a new file in the forums folder?

Regards,
Nath

To disable the CMS and Blog, go to admincp > plugins & products > manage products > find vBulletin CMS and vBulletin Blog > click Disable next to each of them.

Also don't forget to double check your index.php file and change the default script if required:

Code:

/**
 * Use the CMS as the default script:
 */

require('content.php');

/**
 * Use the forum as the default script:
 */

// require('forum.php');

So to use the forum as default remove the // in front and to comment out the CMS add in // in front of the content.php snippet of code ;).

New example:

Code:

/**
 * Use the CMS as the default script:
 */

// require('content.php');

/**
 * Use the forum as the default script:
 */

require('forum.php');

Actually I believe Lynne had the best info here, disable them via the product manager the index edit is something extra you should do if not using the CMS ;). You only need to edit the index.php that's included in your vbulletin files i.e. the index.php that is on your forums ROOT folder.

Yup I done both but I think I tried something like that a couple of months ago without editing the index.php file and thats why it wasnt working.

Its all working now though so thank you both for the help :)

Also No need for help with the htaccess as thats now sorted as I only needed to add one line to redirect /forums/forum.php to /forums/ :)

Thank you :) Now I just need to find a donation plugin for vB4 and finish the coding and thats the easy part of the forums done.

Then I just waiting on my coder to finish the scripting for the main site.
