Zooming out of posts- Help!

I'm installing my vbulletin 4.0 and i noticed that posts pages are fully zoomed in. I would like to have my posts page look like this site: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread637859/pg1

You see how the posts in the link i provided is not zoomed in- you have margins on either side of the post. Please help me achieve this.. is there a way I can do this in the admin or do I need a mod?

Please help me, I am so lost and have been going over this for weeks and cannot find a solution.

Thank you kindly,

Gdubbs

I have no idea what you mean by "zoomed in". Can we get a link to your site to see this? By default, if you have margins on the rest of the site, then you will have margins around the posts on the showthread page.

Lynne,

Let me give you an example, check out this site: http://www.teenbay.net/threads/348-Do-you-drink

You notice how all the posts are zoomed in, there really isn't any margins to put ads or widgets.

Now check out this page here: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread638251/pg1

You notice that you can place ads and widgets on the side of the posts. Thats what I want to do, i don't want the posts to take up the whole page

Please explain to me how I can do this. Thank you for your previous reply. i've been tearing my hair out trying to figure this out.

Kind Regards,

Dubbs

So you want to add a sidebar to the showthread page. You'd have to put all the stuff from showthread into a <div> that you want on one side and then add another <div> to the page for the sidebar and then set a width for both of the divs. Something *like* below (I'm never tried, so that's why I say like this):

HTML Code:

<div class="right"> all the stuff for the sidebar</div>
<div class="left">all your thread stuff you want on the left</div>

Then for the css:
HTML Code:

.right {float: right; width 24%;}
.left {float: left; width: 65%;}
