Creating user on-the-fly

Hello,
is it possible creating new users on the fly?

I have a script where users can register themselves with a username and password. I'd like to add a new user to vbulletin with the same username and password. Is there an API or a given function to do that? I mean something to paste in the other script code.

Double username won't be a problem since the 1st script doesn't allow the same username.
