Social Group forums in vbulletin 4. How can I do that?

Is there any way using a mod or a script add-on to create private social groups forums accessible only to Groups members?

Thank you in advance for every reply / tutorial!

Regards!

So, if you are a member of a certain group then you also have access to a certain forum? I have not seen a mod like that (but then I also haven't searched for one either).

Yes Lynne ypu are correct. I have found this in some vbulletin forums in the past in vBulletin 3 and I would like to add i now in mine vBulletin 4 forum but I really do not know How. Only members of a group can access and view forum associated with the group.

I found this in the the site but as I am not a designer or vBulletin expert I really do not know if this applies to vBulletin 4 because this thread was created in 2008 and refers to vBulletin 3.

Try it on your test site and see. If it's just php, then it should work on vB4 just fine.

This is definitely possible..

I just create new forums and modify the permissions for each group to show or not show for the groups I want

Now when each member logs in they can only see what their group is allowed, groups that arent allowed wont even know other forums exist

goto:

Forums & Moderators> Forum Permissions

In there you will see a list of all your forums...click edit to change the preferences for each group

I think he is talking about Social Groups, not usergroups.... right?

Mikevet1984 12-02-2010 05:33 PM

Of courses social groups I mean, too! Forgive me if I did not explain correctly! What I am looking for is a hack or script that gives the creator of a social group the permission to create social group forum in the main forum visible only to him and the group members. And the admin mods & smods of course

It's easy to make usergroups forums from the forums permissions.

The difficult task is sth like that. I hope sb will help with that....

I corrected threads topic!
