Help with Upgrade to 4.0.8 from 4.0.7
 

when i go to the 'forum/install/upgrade.php" with browser for upgrade I get DB error:

Database error in vBulletin :

mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Access denied for user 'scott_scott'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

All new files were uploaded, forum turned off, removed 'install/install.php' and changed 'includes/config.php.new' to config.php, edited it with correct Db name, Db user name, and password.

You upgrade directions seem rather simple, but maybe I am missing something?

If you are only upgrading, there's no need to replace the original config.php in the root. You should have left the original config.php there in the root and left the .new at the end of the one you uploaded in the upgrade. Did you save your DB before trying this? Did you upload ALL of the files?
