A friend of mine is trying to sell his vbulletin license and i was wondering if it is legal. cause it is cheaper. so if it is legal please let me know. and if it is now i will just save up for a legal one.
please reply asap i need it.

Yes indeed. An owned license or vB Suite license can be officially transferred only once. You need to make sure the license is legitimate and that the seller is trusted, as vBulletin will not be responsible for any fraudulent activities...

so i only need to make sure that he only sold it once? and didnt make copies of it? right?

Make sure he is the original owner of the license, that he didn't buy it used from someone else. If he's the original owner and you trust him you'll probably be OK... but vBulletin.com has a sticky thread about things you should be aware of when buying a used license- wouldn't hurt to read that just so you know the dangers.

Also is it a vBulletin 4 license or a vBulletin 3 license.. if it's VB3 you'll still need to purchase 4 (for close to full price) if you intend to upgrade.
