Custom post parsing

I'd like to add a hook so that each time a post is rendered (whether it be alone in showpost, or with others in showthread, or any place) I can parse out some custom code we have for some contests/etc. we will be running on the forum.

Could someone give me a a hint on where to start? Ie which hook is necessary?
