Simple reputation
 

Hello,

I am searching for a way to offer my users a simple way to rate a posting, which again takes direct influence on the reputation. Of course there are two major addons for this available for vBulletin 4:

- Post Thank You Hack by Abe1
- Helpful Anwers System by Ted S

For me both have disadvantages:

1) Post Thank You Hack

- Not supported anymore
- Only fixed reputation points can be given to the user

2) Helpful Answers System
- When choosing "Yes / No" (Helpful or not) in the posting, it takes 5 seconds till the choice is been displayed in the posting -> Users get confused if the missed the spot and click a few times
- When deleting the rating, sometimes it can give weird displays "499414194 of 499414194 rated this thread blabla" (in fact the rating was deleted and nothing should be displayed instead of 499414194).
- In general I like the button in the bottom line of a post more than something in the post itself.

The vBulletin included rating function instead is too small to be noticed by the user. Of course it could be noticed. In fact I believe that this on the other hand is the best option, however it should become more visible to the user. Has anyone changed the way of the look of the post rating function for it to become more visible to the user?
