Difference between Post and Thread

What features does a Post lack compared Thread?

example: Thread have similar threads functionality and post do not
Thread can be rated while post can't be rated

A thread is made up of a lot of posts. So, some functions are geared towards the individual post, or the person who made the post, whereas others are geared towards the whole thread in genearl.
