Merge two Databases and users
 

Hi.
I tried to merge two vB databases (vB 3.8.6 PL 1) with Impex. It was no problem. But now there are imported_ users and normal users.

When the mail adress is equal the users were combined by Impex. But I want that every user with the same name will combined - no matter of the mail.

Is there a script which mass merges users or a query to do that?
I found this script - http://50hz.ws/devel/massmerge.pl.txt - but it does not work...

Hmm that was a perl file, i dont know perl enough, wonder if there is a way to rewrite that as php...

We ran into this problem a few years ago, too. Only thing we were ever able to do was merge the duplicate accounts one at a time, as we never found a way back then to do it en masse.

Um, so... I did not post this thread. Suspecting that my account has been compromised.

If it was, it was back in November. All you probably need to do is change your password.

Well, October, really. I didn't start this thread. I've never said "Hi" as an opening statement, nor do I exhibit language skills which trend toward English not being my first language.

Just curious how it could have happened. Kinda paranoid about that sort of thing in general, and take good measures as a standard function in daily life.

Not really sure. But changing your password would probably be all you need to do.
